Pavement Interlayers

Nonwoven interlayer fabrics provide multiple benefits including stress absorption, bond breaking, and waterproofing; there are two types of interlayer geotextiles – overlay and bond breaker fabrics.

Overlay fabrics are used with flexible pavements to create a moisture barrier between layers and control reflective cracking. Bond breakers provide separation and improve drainage with concrete pavements.

TerraTex® nonwoven geotextiles are made up of polypropylene fibers. These fibers are needled to form a stable and durable network such that the fibers retain their relative position. It is non-biodegradable and resistant to most soil chemicals, acids, and alkali with a pH range of 3 to 12. Unless noted otherwise, all values are minimum average roll values (MARV).
